Session 36

The group fought there way down a necrotic corridor in which the first and third sections were infused with a powerful -10 necrotic energy pulse but the middle section had a strong +10 radiant pulse. The group dispatched of 4 abysal ghouls and, 2 bone nagas and a dude at the end who was way stronger but was locked down the entire fight (fuck you tait, oh wait that makes no sense why would I say that, lol)

They then encountered a really strong level 24 dragon whose phylactery was being held in the next room. They diplomatically reasoned with the dragon to create an exchange, his phylactery for the dragons platinum and weapons.

The group went into the final room, killed a ton of really strong ghouls and a NightWalker. They fought bravely, well for the most part. Connor and Justin mostly sat in the corner and dodged the necrotic pulses. Actually Connor succesfully burst most of the necromatic magic on Ashley. They then found the first of the 4 soul rings and found two +5 weapons and leveled up 19! Huzzah.

The group started off with a bang, literally a bang of ice exploded as the Archangel of Vengence emerged from below. Naturally Connor pulled the angel of death, and naturally the angel had a continual teleportation next to connor for the rest of encounter. Even better he got killed on his first turn. The group eventually cleared the room, level up to 18 and then Justin had to use his love device (aka bro-skull of masturbation) to teleport into the Sartin Tomb. There the found Sartin skull, a very powerful, and now happy, skull. The group then continued on into the room with the giant black obelisk and killed off the Efreet and his fire archon cronies. Thanks to Aly shouting from the other room who the figured out the puzzle immediately they solved the puzzle stepping on the buttons that spelled out light.

Then they teleported into the Shadowfell and were immediatly encountered by a group of wraiths. These were some nasty wraiths with auras that sucked away surges and weakened. The highlight was Justin getting an opprotunity and missing horribly, and then later critting with a melle basic and dealing a whopping 15 damage. But Justin has never been so excited for 15 damage before. BROOO!! With all the “Bronuses” and “Bro0-ken” abilities the “League of Extradoniary Gentleman” cleaned up.

They then walked in Magthedar’s Teeth and cleared out the first stench filled room killing a bunch of wights and ghouls. The group is now low on surges and has yet to find a safe place to recharge.

The group found the entrance into Sartin Tomb, and on the way killed 2 golems, 2 gargoyles and Gibbering Abomination that was a reincarnated version of our dear friend Guzzle! He spoke endless words and sounds at once to lower everyone’s ability to think and attack! Sounds about right haha.

Connor smartly walked right up to the door and set off the trap and immediately ran backwards before aly dearmed the trap.

The group then entered a room with 2 bone nagas (hidden in Justin’s pile of skulls), 2 bone champions and 2 lightning obelisks. Aly was able to succesfully disarm the obelisks, while justin tweedled along with his mage hand for multiple rounds to no avail. The group killed everything and found 4 words (fate, stark, winter and destiny) in particular corners of the room. The cleared the large pit in the middle of the room and made into the final room.

Here the group was consistantly teleported around and took 10 force damage each time. They tried to disarm the trap using justin’s whispering wind but to no avail. Eventually our heros cleared the enemies and were able to disarm the trap. Only 1 more encounter until they reach a room of safety!

The group left the Abyss and ventured back into their own realm. the went to the Thunderspire Labryinth and found out that the dead can no longer be brought back to life using resurrection spells.

In the mean time the group went back to moonstair to check on their investments. Overall new vegas aka moonstair is a propsering money pit/cesspool. Great economic discussion occured between our resident Sleazy CPA and the governer Rondell. They agreed to receive a 20% discount on all items from their store.

The group then progressed to Vaester and found out that perhaps the dragon Urishtar Nightwyrm is stealing the souls of those that have deceased. The group entered the city while the cleric Beldan was attempting to raise the dead Jothan Ironspell. After the spell failed and a mist version of a dragon emerged from the tomb as the spell failed and a group of wights and undead emerged. They fought off the undead and enlisted the help of Moyshanna to investigate a portal into the shadowfell.

Then the group entered the Gloomsdeep and took out the enormous original carrion worm. Now they are on the way to Sartin’s Tomb to find the portal to the shadowfell.

Session 32
Holy Shit, Connor

So the group battled south down through the Gallows to take out the Oni Lord Ballad, with relative ease, then they battled through the staging area with the 2 mummies the death knight and the bishop. Unfortutanately Aly killed the bishop in 1 elongated string of crits and Connor/Chad trapped one of the 2 mummies in a corner. Nobody puts Mummy in the corner!

Then the group went through a 3 stage skill challenge to enter Zirithian’s Ziggaurat, here they had to first pass an individual endurance check, then they had to convince a keeper that they were dead (sorry Amanda and Aly, you couldn’t succed) and finally they each had a 1 on 1 mental conversation with Lord Orcus as to why they should be spared. Such comments included Justin asking to open a free trade agreement and Ken throwing down some strange cryptic hashtags. Orcus throught that Ken must have been going mad just adding in random # all over.

Finally the group entered the Ziggauraut and started to fight the final encounter. After round 1 however Connor inexplicably TELEPORTED INTO A ROOM NOBODY HAD ENTERED! HAHAHAH. He was immediatly surround by an Immolith and Lord Dust a Lich. Connor clung to the edges of life over and over again and died a few times, but was able to miracously survive the entire encounter. After slaying Zirithian the group found a +4 weapon, a +3 neck piece a ton of gold, enough XP to level up to 17 and THE SINGLE PAIR OF DICE OF AUSPICIOUS FORTUNE in the world!

Great Success. Now back to the Seven Pillared Hall to find out what the world has been up to since they have left.

The group entered the abyss, which they have found out to be Lord Orcus’s staging area for his undead troops. Immediatly upon entering they encountered the Keeper, a stanky eyed, bell around his neck creeper who is a sentient shard of Lord Orcus himself.

The keeper wanted nothing more than to be free of his duty to Orcus and to Zirithian. So he gave each member a coin to cancel one of the negative effects and of the realm which were super nasty (1-2 was -4 all defenses, 3-4 was -10 damage and 5-6 was 10 necrotic). He also told the group to try to salvage the magical sentient sword known as Nightbringer from Zirithian and when the opprotunity arose to shove the sword in Lord Orcus’s eye. He then gave the group a map of Deathnell (the hold in which Zirithian lives) and told them they would have to pass a 10 hour endurance check to get to the hold.

The group battled through a series of very intense endurance checks and made their way to Deathnell and lost a handful of surges.

Once at the Deathnell they had to cross a deadly bridge and kill some Skeleton Naga’s with huge reaches of 15 feet. They were succesful. The group then battled through the gate, although 3 members died from a naga and Pipes had to burn like 3 dailies to survive and heal back up the party. Finally the group ventured onto the Tower.

Within the tower the group battled through a vicious “flesh curtain” and defeated a series of wraiths and other undead creatures to create a safe place to rest for the night.

Overall Great SUCCESS! Only Chad and Aly have their coins to avoid the curses of this realm left.

Session 30

The group progressed into the city of Pharvorul and passed its final abyss test! Then they cleared their way through the entrance and the torture pit to the Drow temple. They then encountered Matron Ulvrain and talked their way out of confrontation, for the first time ever, NOTE: for now. In order to accomplish this Chad and Aly had to convert to worship Loth, but that is a small feat to pay. In fact Chad was really pumped about it. They also realized that this would help fuse the rift between loth, Matron Ulvrain and Drider.

From here the group went to guard the rift between the underdark and the plane where Orcus rules, Deathnell. They successfully accomplished this, but not before Ken took a 72 damage opportunity attack.

Session 29

The group welcomed a new member, Gauthak to the team. In the first encounter the team circumvented all logic and reason and went straight to the building that housed the portal to the other dimension in which Lord Orcus resides. Here they killed a team of turned drow. The group spent multiple rounds chilling in the Abyss, everyone loves a good ole fashioned abyss party.

Then the group proceeded to the barracks of this drow enclave. Here Frosty charged into the middle of the room and called out the boss into the center of a battle ring. He then made a piss circle around himself and called the commander a little bitch. Soon after Sleazy entered the room with a trickle of urine behind himself. The group was successful in clearing the room and they found a +4 mordant bastard sword for Dr. Pipes.

Next they proceeded to a building that was ravaged with war. Within they found the kin of Matron Ulvrain and they convinced him to become a foot servant in their money grab … i mean their city of Moonstair.

Then they proceeded to their final encounter in which they were faced against Marth, who was Matron Ulvrain’s primary assassin. They were creative enough to create a ridiculous way to break in, which included Sleazy summoning hammerfist to kick in a wall and then toss in an explosive barrel of jelly to collapse about 1/4 of the building.

The group then successfully locked down Marth and took out the encounter. Granted Sleazy spent most of his time working on elaborating on Frosty’s Sand sculptures in the abyss. Word is there is a full glass replica, to perfect scale, of the city of Minas Tirith, in case you are interested in visiting. Its quite a site. Unfortunately all you can see is this sculpture, a battle standard of healing and maybe some urine. Have fun!

The group succesfully took out the necromancer, and then they replaced one of the embalming chambers with the necromancers and ported him back to Moonstair to be a trophy in their mansion.

They cleared out a mutilated merchant house and found a weak slave to become a foot servant in one of their pleasure dens back in moonstair.

Then they mostly were successful in circumventing a group of spiders by climbing over a cliff.

The group then went to clear out the trade station that was inhabited by the Orontor mage. Within they found a series of wights, and a spider. After most of the wights were killed a few dragonborns, a umbering hulk and nightmare spawn attacked and reeked havoc on the group. All the while an abysal portal was bringing people randomly to the abyss dimension. Connor was the winner of the group going 3 times! They even left a battle standard of healing in the abyss in case they ever want to go back and visit.

After a hefty battle they cleared all of the baddies and found Orontor cowering under his bed in the final room. They talked to him and realized that Matron Ulvon and Zirithian are both to blame for the decay of this once great Underdark city.

On a side note, Justin went to -65… i mean -40, and Chad went uncouncious … unfortunately not by actual damage. Now they must decide what their next course of action to assault the Underdark city.
